As part of filing a secure report with us, you must agree to a short engagement letter with a partner la firm. Why do we require this? So that the strong legal protection of attorney-client privilege attaches immediately upon your filing a report with us. Providing protection to whistleblowers and doing what we can to protect their rights and interests is our first priority.
There is no cost for this engagement to you, and an engagement with the firm in no way limits your rights. The scope of the engagement is limited to primarily evaluating your potential claim and providing recommendations to you.

There is a wide variety of potential case types where whistleblowers may get rewarded from reporting healthcare/Medicare fraud, to misuse of Cares Act funds, to SEC violations, to tax evasion, to reporting environmental pollution, etc. Each of these potential case types requires specialized legal knowledge, experience working with different government agencies or judicial entities, and knowledge of the best venue to bring a case. The law firms that have the most positive outcomes for their clients tend to specialize only in certain types of cases. It can be difficult and time consuming for whistleblowers to figure out what’s the right law firm to work with for their particular case type. Ethic Alliance helps whistleblowers find the right specialized firm then partners with them to maximize the possibility of the best outcome for whistleblowers that choose to work with us.

Protecting whistleblowers is Ethic Alliance’s first priority. Working with Ethic Alliance provides multiple layers of protection including a secure, encrypted platform to file your report, the ability to maintain complete anonymity, including from us, if you so desire, as well as the strong legal protections of attorney-client privilege and work product by agreeing to our short engagement agreement before filing your report on our platform.
There are statuary protections for Whistleblowers under both federal and state laws. However, that doesn’t mean that entities won’t retaliate or take steps to intimidate potential whistleblowers. As such, we highly recommend choosing to either speak with an experienced attorney or file a report with us before you do anything else.
While Ethic Alliance provides strong protection to whistleblowers, it’s critical to protect yourself as well. Most whistleblowers lose their anonymity through actions they take themselves. Please see the Protect Yourself section of our site, for a series of simple steps you can take to protect yourself.

All you need is a description of the alleged misconduct, when it occurred, and who was involved. However, evidence, in the form of documents or other materials, can be very important to bring these cases forward. The government doesn’t take every potential case that’s brought to them – evidence definitely improves the chances.

No. No information about your identity, or contact information for that matter, is required to file your report. We do provide the option for you to provide it if you choose, but it is not required.
Whenever a report is filed, we automatically generate a random 16 digit code that will be your report receipt number and your means of identifying yourself when you communicate with us through our secure web platform. It’s critical that you keep this number for your records. Also, if you do not provide us with any sort of contact information for us to proactively reach out to you through encrypted messaging platforms (Signal, Telegram, etc.), the only way for us to communicate will be for you to initiate conversation with us through our secure web platform using your 16 digit report receipt number. Again, it’s critical that you keep this number for your records. If we don’t have a means of communication, you will not be able to receive any reward that you might be entitled to under the law.
